Job Description
Agincare Group is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Senior Care Assistants. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents within our care homes. You will assist in leading a team of care staff, ensuring the delivery of person-centered care that promotes the dignity, independence, and well-being of our residents. Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on care and support to residents, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Supervise and support a team of care staff, providing guidance, training, and mentoring to ensure the highest standard of care delivery.
- Delegate tasks and allocate work to care staff, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Assist in the coordination of daily activities and routines for residents, promoting engagement and a sense of purpose.
- Monitor residents’ well-being, observing any changes in their condition and promptly reporting to the relevant healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to medication management protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, assessments, and other relevant information, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and other members of the care team, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Adhere to infection control procedures, health and safety regulations, and promote a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
Requirements:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) is desirable. Candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience working as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant in a care home or similar healthcare setting.
- Passion for delivering high-quality care and improving the lives of residents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and the care team.
- Ability to lead and supervise a team, providing guidance, support, and motivation.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify changes in residents’ conditions.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, treating residents with dignity, respect, and sensitivity.
- Flexible approach to work, including the ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting the well-being and safety of vulnerable individuals.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
