Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our team. As a Restaurant Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, managing staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers.
  2. Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant during service hours, maintaining high standards of service and quality.
  3. Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed.
  4. Assist in staff training, including onboarding new hires and conducting ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  5. Collaborate with the restaurant manager in managing staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for shifts and special events.
  6. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns, resolving issues promptly and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  7. Monitor the dining area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards.
  8. Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and promotions to effectively assist guests and provide recommendations.
  9. Assist in managing inventory, including tracking stock levels, placing orders, and monitoring product quality and availability.
  10. Uphold company policies and procedures, including cash handling, privacy, and security protocols.
  11. Collaborate with the restaurant manager in developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue and improve customer satisfaction.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing innovative ideas to enhance the restaurant’s offerings and operations.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry is required.
  2. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with guests and staff.
  4. Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  7. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  9. Culinary diploma or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  10. Proficiency in a second language, particularly French, may be advantageous.
