Aviagen Ltd, a leading poultry breeding company, is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Poultry Farm Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our poultry farm, ensuring the well-being and optimal conditions for the birds. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide care and attention to the poultry, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and growth.
2. Maintain clean and hygienic poultry houses by regularly cleaning and sanitizing them to prevent the spread of diseases.
3. Collect eggs and record production data accurately.
4. Assist in the implementation of vaccination programs and follow biosecurity protocols to ensure flock health.
5. Monitor and adjust environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation to create optimal conditions for the birds.
6. Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly.
7. Conduct general maintenance tasks on the farm, including repairing fences, gates, and equipment.
8. Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
9. Work collaboratively with the farm team to achieve production targets and maintain farm efficiency.
10. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in poultry farming.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience working on a poultry farm or with livestock is preferred but not essential.
2. Basic knowledge of poultry husbandry practices, including feeding, disease prevention, and biosecurity.
3. Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
4. Attention to detail and the ability to observe and identify signs of illness or distress in the birds.
5. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
7. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
8. Possession of a valid driver’s license may be beneficial, depending on the farm’s location and requirements.
