Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, electrical work, painting, carpentry, and other repairs as needed. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment and facilities.
- Gardening and Landscaping: Maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces by planting, pruning, weeding, mowing, and maintaining flower beds, hedges, and shrubs. Apply fertilizers, mulch, and pesticides as required.
- Equipment and Tools: Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, and power tools. Ensure equipment is cleaned, stored properly, and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and requirements.
- Repairs and Maintenance Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and gardening schedules. Keep inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and report any shortages or needs.
- Resident Interaction: Interact respectfully and professionally with residents, responding to their maintenance requests or concerns in a timely and efficient manner. Provide a high level of customer service and ensure resident satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations. Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in maintenance, gardening, or a related role is preferred.
- Knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repairs.
- Familiarity with gardening techniques, plant care, and landscaping principles.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment and tools related to maintenance and gardening.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents and team members.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings, based on the organization’s needs.
