Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in patient care and treatment, working closely with senior clinicians to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
  2. Perform clinical assessments, examinations, and diagnostic procedures as directed by the supervising consultant.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans, including prescribing medication, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing minor procedures.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  5. Attend and actively contribute to departmental meetings, case discussions, and educational activities.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of patient consultations, treatment plans, and progress.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and colleagues, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
  8. Stay up-to-date with clinical guidelines, evidence-based practices, and relevant medical research through continuous professional development.
  9. Adhere to ethical and professional standards, following NHS policies, guidelines, and the General Medical Council (GMC) regulations.
  10. Take responsibility for self-improvement, seeking guidance and feedback from senior clinicians to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  1. Valid registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility to register.
  2. Completion of medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and Foundation Training or equivalent experience.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in a specific medical specialty.
  4. Excellent clinical knowledge and strong diagnostic and decision-making abilities.
  5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  6. Ability to work well in a team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver patient-centered care.
  7. Dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
  8. Flexibility to adapt to varying clinical settings and work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
