Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of garden maintenance workers, providing guidance, support, and instruction. Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring efficient utilization of team members’ skills and resources.
2. Garden Maintenance Tasks: Oversee and participate in various garden maintenance duties, including but not limited to mowing lawns, pruning trees and shrubs, planting flowers and other vegetation, weed control, and general garden tidying.
3. Quality Control: Ensure that all garden maintenance work meets high-quality standards. Conduct regular inspections to assess work progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback and training to team members as needed.
4. Equipment and Resource Management: Coordinate the proper use, care, and maintenance of garden maintenance equipment, tools, and materials. Ensure that all necessary resources are available and properly utilized.
5. Client Communication: Interact professionally with clients, understanding and addressing their garden maintenance needs and requirements. Maintain effective communication to provide updates on project progress and resolve any issues or concerns.
6. Health and Safety: Promote and enforce adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies within the team. Conduct regular safety briefings, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
7. Seasonal Planning: Collaborate with clients and management to develop seasonal maintenance plans and schedules. Coordinate the execution of tasks according to the specific requirements of each season.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including timesheets, project reports, and client feedback. Provide regular reports on team performance, project progress, and any additional observations or recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in garden maintenance or a related role is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in supervising and motivating a team.
• Strong knowledge of garden maintenance tasks, including lawn care, pruning, planting, weed control, and general garden upkeep.
• Familiarity with garden maintenance equipment and tools, as well as their proper use and maintenance.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and prioritize tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to garden maintenance.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
