Job Summary:

Aspirare Recruitment Scotland, a reputable recruitment agency, is currently seeking skilled and experienced individuals to join our team as Forklift Drivers. As a Forklift Driver, you will play a vital role in warehouse and logistics operations, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods using forklift equipment. This position requires a valid forklift license, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move goods, materials, and products within a warehouse or industrial setting.
2. Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers using the appropriate forklift attachments, ensuring proper placement and weight distribution.
3. Transport goods to designated storage areas or production lines, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
4. Verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments, checking for damaged goods and accurate documentation.
5. Stack and organize goods in an orderly manner, maximizing space utilization and ensuring efficient accessibility.
6. Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and operational controls.
7. Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
8. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
9. Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and accurate inventory management.
10. Maintain accurate records of goods movements, inventory counts, and any incidents or accidents.

Qualifications:

1. Valid forklift license/certification is required.
2. Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting is preferred.
3. Good understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping processes.
4. Knowledge of safe load handling and forklift operation techniques.
5. Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and operating forklift controls.
6. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
7. Strong awareness of workplace safety and the ability to identify potential hazards.
8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
9. Basic numeracy and computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
10. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
