Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
  2. Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate selection, and onboarding.
  3. Employee Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, including surveys and action plans.
  4. Workforce Development: Identify training and development needs and coordinate programs to build employee capabilities.
  5. Performance Management: Support the development and implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting and feedback mechanisms.
  6. Leadership Development: Create and deliver leadership development programs for managers and supervisors.
  7. HR Policies and Compliance: Ensure HR policies and practices comply with employment laws and regulations.
  8. Workplace Culture: Promote and reinforce a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity.
  9. HR Reporting: Generate HR reports and analytics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and inform decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in HR leadership roles, preferably in a local government or public sector environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders and employees.
  • Proficiency in HR software and data analysis tools.
