Trowunna Wildlife Park is a privately owned wildlife park in Mole Creek, Tasmania, Australia. We are dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and conservation of Tasmania’s unique wildlife. The park is home to a wide variety of native animals including Tasmanian Devils, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, and various species of birds. We pride ourselves on providing a safe and natural environment for our animals while educating the public about the importance of wildlife conservation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for the animals including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health and well-being.
  • Maintain clean and safe enclosures for the animals.
  • Monitor animal behavior and report any unusual activity or health concerns to the supervisor.
  • Assist with the rehabilitation and release of native wildlife.
  • Provide educational talks and demonstrations to visitors about the animals and wildlife conservation.
  • Assist with the training and enrichment of the animals.
  • Participate in public events and educational programs as required.
  • Assist with other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for animals and wildlife conservation.
  • Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Current First Aid Certificate is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, public holidays, and school holidays as required.
