Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tree Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of trees to assess their health, condition, and structural integrity. Identify and document any signs of disease, pests, damage, or decay. Evaluate the risk level associated with each tree.
  2. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments of trees to determine potential hazards, considering factors such as tree health, location, proximity to structures, and the surrounding environment. Recommend appropriate actions based on the assessment results.
  3. Tree Management: Develop and implement tree management plans, including pruning, removal, or other necessary interventions based on inspection findings and risk assessments. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and appropriate tree maintenance activities.
  4. Tree Preservation: Identify and protect significant or protected trees, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines. Provide guidance on tree preservation measures and collaborate with authorities, if required.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of tree inspections, assessments, and actions taken. Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, recommendations, and proposed management strategies.
  6. Public Interaction: Communicate effectively with the public, addressing inquiries and concerns related to tree management. Provide guidance on tree care, disease prevention, and relevant regulations.
  7. Arboricultural Advice: Offer expert advice and guidance on tree-related matters to internal teams, local authorities, developers, and other stakeholders. Stay updated on the latest arboricultural practices and contribute to professional development opportunities.
  8. Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures while conducting tree inspections and related activities. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certified Arborist or relevant qualification in arboriculture is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of tree species, their identification, growth habits, and common diseases or pests.
  • Strong understanding of tree risk assessment methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Previous experience in tree inspection, management, or a related role is preferred.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills for documentation, reporting, and data management purposes.
  • Full UK driving license is usually required for conducting tree inspections across different locations.
