Job Summary:

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Your role will involve assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being and safety of the individuals you support. Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered support and care to individuals, following care plans and guidelines set by the organization and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Assist individuals with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their dignity and privacy.
  • Support individuals in their daily activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting independence and empowering individuals to make choices and decisions regarding their care and daily routines.
  • Engage individuals in meaningful activities and social interactions, promoting their physical and mental well-being.
  • Observe and monitor individuals’ physical and mental health, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, family members, and external agencies to provide coordinated care and support.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Attend training and professional development sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in providing quality care and support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or in a similar role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals and their families.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Reliable and dependable, with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
  • Proof of relevant qualifications or willingness to obtain necessary certifications (e.g., Care Certificate, NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care).
