Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Food Runners. As a Food Runner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely delivery of food from the kitchen to the dining area, assisting servers, and contributing to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the kitchen staff to pick up food orders and deliver them promptly to the appropriate tables.
2. Verify the accuracy of each order by matching it with the corresponding tickets or server instructions.
3. Coordinate with the serving staff to ensure that all condiments, utensils, and necessary items accompany each order.
4. Communicate any special guest requests or dietary restrictions to the serving staff and kitchen team.
5. Assist in monitoring the timing of food preparation, ensuring that each order is delivered promptly and hot.
6. Collaborate with the serving staff to clear empty plates, glasses, and utensils from tables when required.
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including clearing and resetting tables efficiently.
8. Collaborate with the kitchen team and servers to ensure effective communication and smooth workflow.
9. Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries or requests during the dining experience.
10. Uphold health and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a Food Runner, Server Assistant, or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
2. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
3. Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and carry food trays or plates.
4. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the serving and kitchen staff.
5. Positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service is an asset.
8. Second language proficiency, particularly in French, may be advantageous.
