Job Description:
The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our team. As a Restaurant Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, managing staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant during service hours, maintaining high standards of service and quality.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed.
- Assist in staff training, including onboarding new hires and conducting ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the restaurant manager in managing staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for shifts and special events.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns, resolving issues promptly and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Monitor the dining area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and promotions to effectively assist guests and provide recommendations.
- Assist in managing inventory, including tracking stock levels, placing orders, and monitoring product quality and availability.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including cash handling, privacy, and security protocols.
- Collaborate with the restaurant manager in developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue and improve customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing innovative ideas to enhance the restaurant’s offerings and operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry is required.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with guests and staff.
- Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary diploma or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in a second language, particularly French, may be advantageous.
