Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team as Hosts/Hostesses. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth dining experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, creating a positive first impression.
2. Manage and organize reservations, ensuring accurate seating arrangements and efficient table turnover.
3. Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus, and providing information about daily specials or promotions.
4. Maintain a clean and organized reception area, including managing coat check and keeping track of personal belongings.
5. Assist in coordinating waitlist management during peak hours, accurately estimating wait times, and updating guests accordingly.
6. Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of service.
7. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.
8. Monitor the dining area to ensure guest satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.
9. Collaborate with the serving staff to accommodate large parties or special events.
10. Assist in maintaining an accurate record of reservations, guest preferences, and feedback for future reference.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with guests in a welcoming and professional manner.
3. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
4. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
5. Positive attitude and a genuine desire to provide exceptional service to guests.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
7. Knowledge of reservation systems and basic computer skills is an asset.
8. Second language proficiency, particularly in French, may be advantageous.
