The author himself was a veterinary surgeon. He went to Mr. Baile’s home for the remedy of his cow. He felt it difficult to seek out the illness of the cow. Although he didn’t hand over hope. He visited Mr. Baile’s home frequently. When he handled the cow, he pumped formalin and sodium into the cow. The author gave the cow some drugs with a combination of treacle as his final try. Mr. Baile stated that the cow wasn’t getting higher with the author’s drugs. Mr. Baile knowledgeable him that his cow cured by the postman’s suggestion. So Mr. Baile thanked the postman slightly that the author. Then the author felt unhappy. However, every time when the author used to come back to Mr. Baile’s home, the canine used to bark at him. The title of the canine was Shep. It was an Alsatian. The shep used to come back to the author barking and run a method. The author heard about postman from Mr. Baile, he grew to become indignant and left the cowshed instantly. Then once more the dog-Shep barked at him.

Then the author pulled the canine by Chain and shook his fist beneath the canine’s nostrils and shouted on the canine. When the author grew to become calm he realized that he shouldn’t have challenged the canine as a result of he knew that canine frightened the passer-by just for enjoyable. It was shep’s passion. The author feels unhappy for his personal mistake which he did with a harmless animal. After few months achieve Mr. Baile invited him to see the cow, however, this time Shep didn’t bark at him. In the future the author was driving to his home then he noticed the canine barking at t tinker then the tinker ran away with worry dropping his pots on the ground.

Interpretation:

The author tries to point out that animals are extra devoted and so they have the virtues, devotion and sense of recognition. They acknowledge different human and animal beings. Subsequent factor he desires to say that we wish to be praised for what we did. If we don’t get reward, we change into indignant.

Critical Thinking:

The author has used easy language to current this story. I agree with the author that animals have recognition and they’re devoted however I don’t agree with him when he says barking is the canine’s passion. It will possibly’t be canine’s passion. They’ll chunk us if we don’t take care.

Assimilation:

Once I learn Shep’s passion I remembered my very own dog-Johnny. It’s a devoted canine. If guards my home wherever my relations are. Johnny barks at strangers. It doesn’t bark at acquainted individuals or relations.
