Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our dining establishment. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of service and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including dining area, bar, and kitchen.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff members, ensuring they adhere to service standards and operational procedures.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and continuous professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback, coaching, and support as needed.
  • Create and maintain effective systems for inventory management, purchasing, and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for staff and guests.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize efficiency, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns, resolving issues promptly and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Monitor and analyze sales, expenses, and profitability, making strategic decisions to achieve financial targets.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menus, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection of dishes.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and local community partners.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices, implementing innovative ideas to enhance the restaurant’s offerings and operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry is required.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with staff and guests.
  • Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and analyzing financial reports.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with restaurant management software.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Food Safety Certification and other relevant certifications are an asset.
