Job Summary:
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Health Care Assistants. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to patients within various healthcare settings. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care and assist patients with their daily activities. Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, while respecting their dignity and promoting their independence.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and report any abnormalities or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Support patients with medication management, ensuring accurate administration and documentation as per established protocols.
- Assist in the implementation of care plans, following guidelines and instructions provided by registered healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control and health and safety protocols.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, actively listening to their needs and concerns.
- Report changes in patients’ conditions or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals, contributing to the ongoing assessment of their well-being.
- Document care provided accurately and promptly, maintaining clear and concise records in compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in patient care.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or a similar role in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help and care for others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Basic understanding of healthcare procedures and practices, including infection control and health and safety measures.
- Ability to work as part of a team, following instructions and contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to accurately document patient information.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the needs of the healthcare facility.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- NVQ/QCF qualifications in Health and Social Care are desirable but not essential.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting privacy at all times.
