Job Description
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Retail Manager to join our team in the United Kingdom. As a Catering Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and profitability of our catering retail outlets, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maximizing revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple catering retail outlets, including cafes, restaurants, or food kiosks. Ensure smooth operations, adherence to hygiene and safety standards, and exceptional customer service.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of catering staff, including chefs, cooks, servers, and cashiers. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with chefs and culinary teams to develop appealing and profitable menus that cater to customer preferences and dietary requirements. Ensure consistent quality and timely introduction of new offerings.
- Customer Service: Foster a customer-focused culture, ensuring prompt and friendly service. Address customer concerns, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally. Strive to exceed customer expectations and enhance customer loyalty.
- Sales and Revenue Generation: Develop strategies to increase sales and profitability, including upselling, promotional campaigns, and cost optimization. Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee inventory levels, stock rotation, and ordering processes to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize wastage. Maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor delivery schedules.
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and report on financial performance. Analyze financial data, identify areas for cost reduction or revenue enhancement, and implement strategies accordingly.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and licensing requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns, promotions, and loyalty programs to attract new customers and enhance brand visibility.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth, such as catering for events, corporate partnerships, or expanding into new locations. Develop business proposals, negotiate contracts, and establish mutually beneficial relationships with clients.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Catering Retail Manager or a similar role within the hospitality industry. Experience in managing multiple outlets is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of catering and food service operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales, manage budgets, and achieve financial targets.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Sound business acumen and understanding of profit and loss statements, inventory management, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and experience in developing marketing strategies is a plus.
- Food hygiene and safety certifications, such as Food Hygiene Level 3, are desirable.
