Job Description

Workforce Recruitment and Training is a reputable staffing agency specializing in providing skilled professionals to various industries. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Forklift Driver to join our team in the United Kingdom. As a Warehouse Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement and storage of goods within the warehouse, utilizing forklifts and other equipment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently move goods within the warehouse.
  2. Load and unload trucks, containers, and shelves using forklifts, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
  3. Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
  4. Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while operating forklifts, including proper use of seat belts, horns, and other safety features.
  5. Transport goods to designated storage areas or production lines, ensuring accurate placement and organization.
  6. Assist in receiving, checking, and verifying incoming goods, comparing them to the accompanying documentation.
  7. Prepare goods for shipment by inspecting and selecting appropriate packaging materials and labeling containers.
  8. Maintain accurate inventory records by recording goods movements and reporting discrepancies or shortages.
  9. Perform regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  10. Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
  11. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the safe handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
  12. Keep the warehouse clean and organized, including removing debris, sweeping floors, and maintaining clear aisles and walkways.
  13. Report any operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  14. Follow company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality requirements.
  15. Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

  1. Valid forklift driving certification or license is essential.
  2. Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  3. Knowledge of different forklift types and their specific handling requirements.
  4. Ability to safely maneuver forklifts in tight spaces and around obstacles.
  5. Good understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.
  7. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks.
  8. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  9. Clear communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  10. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime when required.
  11. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to forklift operations.
  12. Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
