Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking dedicated and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Waitstaff. As a member of the Waitstaff, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

1. Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner, escorting them to their tables and providing menus.
2. Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
3. Serve food and beverages to guests, ensuring accuracy, proper plating, and timely delivery.
4. Provide recommendations on menu items and answer any questions or inquiries from guests.
5. Anticipate and fulfill guest needs, including refilling drinks, clearing plates, and accommodating special requests.
6. Collaborate effectively with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth communication and timely service.
7. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments, providing change, and issuing receipts.
8. Assist in setting up tables, including arranging table settings, utensils, and napkins.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including resetting tables and cleaning spills or messes.
10. Uphold health and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a server or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
2. Strong customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
3. Excellent teamwork and multitasking abilities to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously.
4. Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including wine and cocktail options, is an asset.
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
8. Second language proficiency, particularly in French, may be advantageous.
