Responsibilities:

1. Assist in all aspects of vegetable farming operations, including planting, pruning, weeding, and harvesting crops.
2. Monitor and maintain optimal growing conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and irrigation, within the greenhouse environment.
3. Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery, such as transplanters, irrigation systems, and harvesting tools.
4. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address pest and disease issues, implementing appropriate control measures.
5. Sort, grade, and pack harvested vegetables according to quality standards.
6. Assist in the maintenance and repair of greenhouse structures, equipment, and irrigation systems.
7. Follow established farm practices and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
8. Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including packing areas and storage facilities.
10. Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines governing agricultural operations.

Requirements:

1. Valid work permit or ability to obtain a visa for employment in Canada.
2. Previous experience in vegetable farming or greenhouse operations is preferred but not mandatory.
3. Physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and bending, in a greenhouse environment.
4. Familiarity with farm machinery and equipment operation is an asset.
5. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on seasonal demands.
7. Understanding of and adherence to health and safety regulations.
8. Knowledge of sustainable farming practices is desirable.
