Key Responsibilities:
- Order Picking: Utilize pick lists and other order documents to accurately locate and pick products from designated locations within the warehouse. Ensure that the correct quantities and items are selected for each order.
- Packing and Labeling: Pack orders securely and appropriately to prevent damage during transportation. Apply correct labels and documentation to each package as per company standards.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies to the supervisor. Collaborate with the team to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Quality Control: Perform visual inspections of products during the picking process to identify any damaged or defective items. Report any issues to the supervisor and follow established procedures for handling such items.
- Warehouse Organization: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from hazards. Follow proper procedures for arranging products, disposing of packaging materials, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and transport goods as required. Adhere to safety guidelines and report any equipment malfunctions or damages.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations and meet order fulfillment targets.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. Report any potential hazards, accidents, or injuries to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Prior experience as a warehouse picker or similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to read and understand pick lists, orders, and product labels accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when picking and packing orders.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and the ability to use warehouse equipment safely.
- Basic computer literacy skills for data entry and inventory management purposes.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
