Responsibilities:

1. Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients, as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor.
2. Set up workstations with ingredients, utensils, and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for food production.
3. Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent quality and portion control.
4. Assist in the cooking and assembly of dishes, under the guidance of the chef or kitchen team.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
6. Adhere to health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards at all times.
7. Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and storage of ingredients.
8. Assist in inventory management, monitoring stock levels, and reporting shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
9. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely food service.
10. Provide support to the kitchen team with any additional tasks or duties as required.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar role is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
2. Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
3. Understanding of health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
5. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
6. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
7. Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of a busy kitchen.
8. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
