Job Description:

Edge Creekside Hotel, a prestigious hotel in Dubai, is currently seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our culinary team as Commis. As a Commis, you will assist in the preparation of high-quality dishes and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the senior chefs in food preparation and cooking according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation and adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow instructions and guidance from the senior chefs to ensure efficient and timely food production.
• Measure and portion ingredients accurately for various recipes.
• Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and ingredients.
• Collaborate with the culinary team in menu planning and recipe development.
• Ensure the proper handling, storage, and rotation of food products.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, cooking techniques, and presentation standards.
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, and appearance.
• Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils in good working condition.
• Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations in the kitchen.
• Support and cooperate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Commis or in a similar role is preferred.
• Culinary or hospitality qualification from a reputable institution is an advantage.
• Passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High level of cleanliness, hygiene, and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
