Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze structural systems, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects, using engineering principles and software tools.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations, adhering to industry standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to develop efficient and innovative design solutions.
• Perform structural analysis and modeling, utilizing software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, or similar tools.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures and gather relevant data.
• Evaluate the feasibility and safety of proposed design modifications or alterations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and quality standards.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and project proposals.
• Review and approve contractor submittals and shop drawings.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in structural design practices.
• Participate in project meetings and liaise with clients and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a focus on structural engineering.
• Proven experience working as a Structural Design Engineer, preferably in the construction or engineering consulting industry.
• Proficiency in structural design software, such as ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, British Standards).
• Proficient in using AutoCAD or similar software for drafting and detailing.
• Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and its applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet project deadlines.
• Flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
• Professional membership or chartership with a relevant engineering institution is advantageous.
