Job Summary:

As a Shop Supervisor at Greggs PLC, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of our stores and ensuring excellent customer service. You will be responsible for supervising a team of shop staff, managing the store’s performance, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate shop staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they deliver exceptional customer service.
  2. Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example in providing friendly and efficient customer service, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere for customers.
  3. Store Operations: Oversee the smooth running of the store, including cash handling, stock management, and maintaining accurate records.
  4. Product Quality and Presentation: Ensure all products are prepared and presented to the highest standards, maintaining freshness and appealing presentation.
  5. Staff Training and Development: Assist in training new team members, coaching and developing existing staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  6. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment for staff and customers.
  7. Sales and Targets: Work towards achieving sales targets, analyzing sales data, and implementing strategies to drive sales growth.
  8. Problem Solving: Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and operational issues effectively, seeking resolutions and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  9. Collaboration: Collaborate with other shop supervisors and store management to share best practices, achieve operational goals, and contribute to a positive team culture.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a retail or customer service environment is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, including cash handling and stock management.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
