Job Summary:

MJ & J McLaren, an agricultural company, is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Seasonal Farm Workers. As a Seasonal Farm Worker, you will assist in various farming activities during specific seasons, contributing to the efficient operation of our farm. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors, gain practical farming experience, and be part of a dynamic team. The position is temporary and aligned with seasonal demands.

Responsibilities:

1. Carry out general farming tasks, such as planting, harvesting, weeding, and pruning crops, following established procedures.
2. Assist with the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, tools, and machinery.
3. Operate farm machinery and vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and health and safety regulations.
4. Monitor crops for pests, diseases, and other issues, reporting findings to supervisors or farm managers.
5. Assist with the care and management of livestock, including feeding, watering, and cleaning animal housing areas.
6. Support the implementation of fertilization and irrigation plans as directed by the farm management team.
7. Carry out manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
8. Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
9. Maintain accurate records of work activities, production data, and any observations as required.
10. Collaborate with the farm team, following instructions and working together to achieve farm goals.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in farming or agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.
2. Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
3. Basic knowledge of farming practices and an interest in agriculture.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions accurately.
5. Good communication skills and the ability to report observations or concerns to supervisors.
6. Flexibility to work variable hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
7. Willingness to learn and adapt to new farming techniques and technologies.
8. A valid driver’s license may be advantageous, depending on the farm’s location and requirements.
