Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of retail assistants, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure excellent customer service delivery.

Customer Focus: Set an example for the team by prioritizing exceptional customer service, resolving customer issues, and maintaining a positive shopping environment.

Operational Efficiency: Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and cash handling to ensure smooth store functioning.

Training and Development: Identify training needs for team members and facilitate training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Sales and Performance: Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.

Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for customers and colleagues.

Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, stock replenishment, and coordinating deliveries to maintain optimal stock levels.

Store Standards: Maintain high standards of store cleanliness, visual merchandising, and product presentation to create an inviting shopping experience.

Collaboration: Work closely with store management and other departments to achieve overall store objectives and uphold Co-op’s values and principles.

Requirements:

Retail Experience: Proven experience in a retail environment, with a track record of delivering excellent customer service and driving sales.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities to inspire and guide the retail team effectively.

Customer-Centric Approach: Demonstrated commitment to meeting customer needs and resolving their queries promptly and professionally.

Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.

Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and make informed decisions.

Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, handling multiple tasks with composure.

Legal Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

Supervisory Experience: Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
