Responsibilities:
Plumbing Installations:
Install and fit plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings, in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Repairs and Maintenance:
Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, such as leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures, to ensure proper functioning of systems.
Reading Blueprints:
Interpret and work from technical drawings and blueprints to plan plumbing installations and repairs.
Material and Equipment Management:
Coordinate with the project team to ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment for plumbing tasks.
Compliance:
Ensure that all plumbing work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards.
Testing and Inspections:
Perform tests and inspections on plumbing systems to identify and rectify any potential problems or deficiencies.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project teams to ensure efficient completion of construction projects.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
Requirements:
Plumbing Qualifications: A valid plumbing qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) is required.
Experience: Previous experience as a Plumber, preferably in a construction or building services environment, is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in all aspects of plumbing, including pipefitting, soldering, and installation of fixtures.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues effectively.
Safety Awareness: In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations related to plumbing work.
Communication: Good communication skills to liaise with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in confined spaces as required.
Adaptability: Willingness to work in diverse construction environments and adapt to changing project needs.
