Responsibilities:

  1. Crop Cultivation:

    • Prepare soil for planting by tilling, fertilizing, and maintaining proper drainage.
    • Plant, transplant, and harvest crops following specific guidelines and schedules.
    • Monitor plant growth, identify pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
    • Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper water management.
  2. Greenhouse Operations:

    • Assist in greenhouse activities, including seeding, potting, pruning, and transplanting.
    • Monitor greenhouse conditions such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation.
    • Implement pest control measures and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the greenhouse.
    • Operate and maintain greenhouse equipment and machinery.
  3. General Farm Maintenance:

    • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing fences, maintaining equipment, and cleaning farm structures.
    • Assist in the construction and repair of farm infrastructure as needed.
    • Participate in general farm cleanup and organization.
    • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  4. Sustainable Practices:

    • Support the implementation of sustainable farming practices, such as organic farming, permaculture, or agroecology.
    • Participate in composting and recycling efforts on the farm.
    • Follow guidelines for responsible use of resources, including water and energy conservation.
  5. Health and Safety:

    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Report any safety hazards, accidents, or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
  6. Teamwork and Communication:

    • Collaborate with team members to accomplish daily farm tasks efficiently.
    • Follow instructions from supervisors and provide assistance as needed.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in farming or agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse operations and crop cultivation techniques is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
