Job Description:
The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking skilled and passionate Line Cooks to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, and delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and specific guest requests.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to maintain health and safety standards.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient food production.
- Plate and garnish dishes with attention to detail and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.
- Assist in the development and refinement of menu items, as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
- Monitor food inventory and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize food waste and ensure consistent plate presentation.
- Support and assist fellow kitchen staff as needed to ensure a smooth workflow.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and culinary terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Culinary diploma or certification is an asset but not mandatory.
