Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking skilled and passionate Line Cooks to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, and delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and specific guest requests.
  2. Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to maintain health and safety standards.
  3. Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
  4. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient food production.
  5. Plate and garnish dishes with attention to detail and presentation.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.
  7. Assist in the development and refinement of menu items, as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
  8. Monitor food inventory and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize food waste and ensure consistent plate presentation.
  10. Support and assist fellow kitchen staff as needed to ensure a smooth workflow.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role is preferred.
  2. Proficient knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and culinary terminology.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
  5. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  8. Culinary diploma or certification is an asset but not mandatory.
