Job Summary:
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in our hotel’s kitchen. Your culinary skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to delivering exceptional food and a memorable dining experience for our guests. This role requires strong cooking abilities, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to recipe specifications and standards.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and plating of all dishes during service hours.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate cooking times and ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to maintain freshness and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including the proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Assist in stock inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and creating daily specials.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff and departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Follow instructions and guidance from the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
- Stay up to date with culinary trends, new techniques, and industry developments.
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role, preferably in a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
- Strong cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks in the kitchen.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or hospitality-related certification is an advantage.
