Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls and provide immediate pre-hospital care to patients, assessing their medical condition, and administering appropriate treatments.
- Patient Stabilization: Stabilize patients’ conditions, administer medications, and perform life-saving procedures as needed.
- Transport: Safely transport patients to hospitals or medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being during transport.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete patient care reports and documentation, including vital signs, treatments administered, and patient history.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and ensure the readiness of medical equipment and supplies in the ambulance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and emergency services personnel, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Community Engagement: Engage with the community through educational programs and outreach to promote public health and safety.
- Safety: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for both patients and team members.
- Visa and Work Permit Assistance: NL Health Services will provide support for the visa and work permit application process to qualified international applicants.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Primary Care Paramedic in Canada or eligibility for certification.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions.
