Job Summary:

As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of computer systems and technology infrastructure. Your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer service orientation will contribute to resolving IT issues, addressing user inquiries, and maintaining a reliable IT environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of IT systems, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  2. Respond to user inquiries, resolving IT-related problems in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripheral devices.
  4. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, system backups, and virus scans.
  5. Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  6. Monitor and maintain IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and equipment.
  7. Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  8. Document and track IT support requests, resolutions, and user feedback.
  9. Provide training and guidance to users on software applications and IT best practices.
  10. Maintain knowledge of current technology trends and advancements in the IT field.
  11. Assist in planning and implementing IT projects, upgrades, and system enhancements.
  12. Follow IT security protocols and guidelines to protect data and systems from unauthorized access.
  13. Participate in the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
  14. Collaborate with the IT team to improve processes and enhance the overall IT support function.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar role is preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  3. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Strong customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with end-users.
  6. Basic understanding of network protocols, configurations, and security.
  7. Familiarity with remote support tools and IT ticketing systems.
  8. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  9. Problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  10. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  11. Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or equivalent, are preferred.
  12. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field is preferred.
