Job Summary

As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and availability of fresh linens, towels, and other hotel laundry items. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This role requires excellent time management skills, the ability to handle laundry equipment, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

1. Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press hotel linens, towels, and other laundry items according to established procedures.
2. Inspect linens for stains, tears, or damage, and remove any stains using appropriate techniques and cleaning agents.
3. Operate laundry equipment, such as washing machines, dryers, ironing machines, and folding machines, safely and efficiently.
4. Ensure the proper handling and care of delicate fabrics and specialty items.
5. Perform minor repairs on linens, such as stitching and patching.
6. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry area, including the proper storage and rotation of clean and soiled laundry.
7. Monitor and maintain laundry supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed.
8. Follow health and safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
9. Collaborate with other housekeeping and hotel staff to ensure a seamless flow of clean linens and towels.
10. Assist with special laundry requests from guests, such as dry cleaning or ironing of personal items.
11. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate authority.
12. Maintain accurate records of laundry processes, inventory, and linen exchanges.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar role is preferred.
2. Knowledge of laundry processes, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and pressing techniques.
3. Familiarity with different fabric types and their care requirements.
4. Ability to operate laundry equipment and use cleaning agents safely and effectively.
5. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, tears, or damage on linens.
6. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
7. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy loads, and handle repetitive tasks.
8. Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures related to laundry operations.
9. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
10. Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
11. High level of integrity and respect for guest privacy and confidentiality.
