Job Overview:

Jean-Christophe La Salle is seeking a compassionate, responsible, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to offer dedicated care to young children in a warm and nurturing environment. As a Home Child Care Provider, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive development of children in a home-based setting. The role requires attentiveness, patience, and a deep understanding of child care best practices. Your responsibilities will include supervising daily activities, preparing nutritious meals, helping with schoolwork, and maintaining a structured and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Child Supervision & Daily Care:

• Provide attentive care and supervision to children in a home setting.
• Maintain a daily routine that includes structured activities, playtime, and rest periods.
• Ensure the safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
• Engage children in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.

Meal Preparation & Nutrition:

• Prepare and serve balanced, nutritious meals and snacks.
• Encourage healthy eating habits and accommodate dietary restrictions if required.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met during meal preparation.

Educational Support & Development:

• Assist children with homework, reading, and other learning activities.
• Promote early childhood development through creative play, storytelling, and interactive learning.
• Provide guidance and discipline in a positive and constructive manner.
• Support social and emotional development by fostering a nurturing environment.

Household Tasks & Cleanliness:

• Keep play areas, kitchen, and other child-related spaces clean and organized.
• Perform light housekeeping duties related to child care, such as laundry and dishwashing.
• Encourage children to participate in age-appropriate chores to develop responsibility.

Communication & Parental Collaboration:

• Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress and behavior.
• Discuss and implement child care routines, safety measures, and any specific parental preferences.
• Address any concerns or challenges in a respectful and professional manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional training in early childhood education or child care is a strong asset.
• Experience: Previous experience in child care, babysitting, or early childhood education is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of child development and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, reliability, and a caring nature.
• Basic cooking and household management abilities.
• Language: Proficiency in English or French is required.

Certifications:

• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
• Criminal background check clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry young children as needed.
• Capability to perform light household chores and remain active throughout the day.
