Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Support: Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored educational programs for students with special educational needs.
2. Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, helping them with their academic, social, and emotional development.
3. Behavior Management: Implement behavior management strategies and techniques to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Assessments and Progress Monitoring: Support in assessing students’ progress, conducting observations, and maintaining accurate records.
5. Learning Resources: Assist in the development and adaptation of learning materials and resources to meet individual students’ needs.
6. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of support for students.
7. Personal Care: Provide personal care assistance, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support, as required for students with additional needs.
8. Safeguarding: Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, following safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
9. Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, including maintaining records, preparing reports, and organizing educational materials.

Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
2. Passion for Special Education: A genuine interest in working with students with special educational needs and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
3. Empathy and Patience: Demonstrated ability to empathize with students, showing patience and understanding in challenging situations.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
5. Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching strategies and approaches to accommodate the diverse needs and abilities of students.
6. Teamwork: Strong collaborative skills, working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
