Job Summary:
As a Fruit Picker at Bellevue Pastoral Company, you will play a pivotal role in our harvest operations, responsible for carefully picking and selecting ripe fruits from our orchards. Your role directly impacts the quality and freshness of our produce, which ultimately reaches markets, stores, and homes around the world. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, a positive outlook, and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Harvest a variety of fruits, including but not limited to apples, pears, citrus, and stone fruits, adhering to company guidelines and quality standards.
- Exercise care while picking and handling fruits to minimize damage during harvesting.
- Sort and pack harvested fruits into designated containers or bins, ensuring that only the finest produce is selected.
- Collaborate closely with fellow team members to achieve daily harvesting targets and meet set deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the orchards and work areas.
- Promptly report any concerns, issues, or equipment malfunctions to your supervisors.
- Participate in training sessions and orientation programs offered by the company.
Qualifications:
- Physically fit and capable of meeting the demands of outdoor agricultural work, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience is not required as comprehensive training will be provided on-site.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the quality of harvested fruits.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Positive attitude, diligent work ethic, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends, given that harvesting schedules may vary.
- Valid work visa or eligibility to work in Australia (visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates).
