Job Summary:

Blacketyside Farm Shop & Tearoom is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Farm Shop Assistant to join our team in the UK. As a Farm Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing excellent service to our customers, maintaining a well-stocked shop, and promoting our farm produce. Responsibilities:

1. Provide friendly and efficient customer service, assisting customers with their inquiries and purchases.
2. Stock and display products in an appealing and organized manner.
3. Ensure the shop shelves, fridges, and displays are well-stocked and properly rotated.
4. Maintain a clean and tidy shop floor, including regular cleaning of display areas and equipment.
5. Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.
6. Assist customers in finding products and provide product knowledge when needed.
7. Take orders for farm produce, such as meats, fruits, and vegetables, and prepare them for collection.
8. Package and label products according to food safety and quality standards.
9. Monitor and record product expiry dates and remove any expired items from the shelves.
10. Assist in inventory management, including stocktaking and replenishing supplies.
11. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
12. Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
2. Strong customer service skills with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Knowledge or interest in farm produce and local food products.
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Attention to detail in maintaining product quality and presentation.
7. Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
8. Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings as per the shop’s operational hours.
9. Understanding of health and safety regulations in a food retail environment.
10. Legal eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
