Job Description

Hamkaur Sidhu & Gurmeet Sidhu, operating as B & C Berry, is a well-established farming business in Canada specializing in berry production. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Farm Workers at various locations across the country.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Crop Maintenance: Assist with daily tasks related to the care and maintenance of berry crops. This includes planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting berries.
2. Field Preparation: Prepare fields for planting by clearing debris, tilling the soil, and ensuring proper irrigation systems are in place.
3. Weed and Pest Control: Monitor fields for weeds, pests, and diseases and implement appropriate control measures to maintain crop health.
4. Harvesting: Participate in the harvesting of berries, ensuring proper handling techniques to maintain product quality. This may involve handpicking or operating machinery such as berry harvesters.
5. Sorting and Packaging: Assist in sorting and packaging berries according to quality standards. Ensure proper labeling and packaging for distribution.
6. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment used in berry production, such as tractors, sprayers, and irrigation systems.
7. General Farm Duties: Perform various general farm duties as required, including fence repair, maintenance of farm buildings and equipment, and general cleanup.
8. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Follow Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and other relevant industry standards.
9. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of crop activities, harvest yields, and any necessary documentation as required.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in farm work, particularly in berry production, is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of berry crops and farming practices is an asset.
• Ability to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work well in a team.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic communication skills in English.
