Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Facilities Assistant with a focus on catering and cleaning. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, particularly in relation to catering services and maintaining cleanliness standards. Responsibilities:

1. Catering Services:

   • Assist with the preparation, delivery, and setup of meals, snacks, and beverages for staff, visitors, and events.
   • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met in accordance with local regulations.
   • Collaborate with the catering team to coordinate menu planning, ordering, and inventory management.
   • Maintain cleanliness and organization of catering areas, including storage, equipment, and dining spaces.

2. Cleaning and Sanitation:

   • Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
   • Empty and clean waste bins regularly, ensuring proper waste segregation and disposal.
   • Clean and maintain restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
   • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or repairs required to the Facilities Manager.

3. Stock and Inventory Management:

   • Receive and store catering supplies, cleaning materials, and equipment.
   • Monitor inventory levels and notify the appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed.
   • Assist in maintaining accurate records of stock levels and consumption.

4. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
   • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including temperature control and allergen management.
   • Follow established procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of cleaning agents and equipment.
   • Participate in regular training sessions related to health, safety, and sanitation practices.

5. Customer Service:

   • Provide friendly and professional customer service to staff, visitors, and clients.
   • Respond promptly and effectively to catering and cleaning requests or inquiries.
   • Address concerns or issues related to catering and cleaning services and take appropriate action to resolve them.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in catering and/or cleaning services is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and cleaning best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, or holidays, as required.
