Job Description

As a Chef Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations and managing a team of chefs to deliver high-quality food services to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Culinary Management: Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Ensure that all meals are prepared to a high standard, meeting client expectations and complying with food safety regulations.
  2. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  3. Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with clients, nutritionists, and culinary teams to design and develop menus that meet dietary requirements, customer preferences, and budgetary considerations. Stay updated with food trends and incorporate innovative ideas into menu offerings.
  4. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce food safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with hygiene regulations, HACCP guidelines, and allergen management protocols. Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
  5. Cost Control and Budgeting: Monitor and control food costs, portion sizes, and waste management. Collaborate with procurement teams to source ingredients, manage inventory, and optimize purchasing decisions.
  6. Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences. Respond to client feedback, resolve issues promptly, and implement necessary improvements.
  7. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining areas. Conduct regular risk assessments, implement safety protocols, and provide training on safe work practices.
  8. Staff Scheduling: Plan and organize kitchen staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operational hours, taking into consideration varying demands and seasonal fluctuations.
  9. Sustainability: Promote sustainable practices in food preparation and operations, such as waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, culinary techniques, and emerging technologies. Continuously seek opportunities to improve operations, streamline processes, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar role within the food service industry. Experience in managing large-scale catering operations is preferred.
  2. Culinary qualifications and relevant certifications in food safety and hygiene. Knowledge of HACCP principles is essential.
  3. Strong culinary skills with expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques. Ability to cater to a diverse range of dietary requirements and preferences.
  4. Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of culinary professionals.
