Job Summary:
As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the culinary operations of our hotel, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and innovative cuisine to guests. Your culinary expertise, leadership skills, and passion for culinary excellence will contribute to the success of our food and beverage offerings. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the culinary vision and strategy for the hotel, ensuring alignment with the brand and guest expectations.
- Create and update menus that showcase creativity, seasonality, and local ingredients, while considering guest preferences and dietary requirements.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage and mentor the culinary team, providing guidance on culinary techniques, menu development, and upholding brand standards.
- Collaborate with the food and beverage manager to plan and execute special events, banquets, and themed dining experiences.
- Monitor and control food costs, including inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers, ensuring the sourcing of high-quality ingredients and negotiating favorable terms.
- Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, promoting safe and efficient work practices.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including allergen management and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, new cooking techniques, and emerging flavors.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints related to the culinary experience, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution.
- Monitor customer feedback and reviews, taking proactive measures to address issues and continuously improve guest satisfaction.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the culinary department.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as food and beverage, procurement, and events, to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role in the hospitality industry is required.
- Strong culinary knowledge and expertise in various cuisines and cooking techniques.
- Proven track record of leading and managing a culinary team, inspiring creativity and maintaining high standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Passion for culinary excellence, creativity, and innovation.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures in a culinary environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining guest privacy and confidentiality.
- Diploma or degree in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant culinary certifications and awards are a plus.
