Job Description

We are currently seeking compassionate and responsible individuals to join our team as Drivers. As a Driver at The Ark Centre, you will play a vital role in transporting our clients safely and comfortably to various destinations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles, such as vans or minibusses, to transport clients with special needs to and from designated locations.
• Ensure the well-being and safety of clients throughout the transportation process, taking necessary precautions and providing any required assistance.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of the vehicle, clients, and other road users.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicles, performing regular inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
• Follow established routes and schedules, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and staff members to address any specific requirements or concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, including pick-up and drop-off times, mileage, and any incidents or observations.
• Report any client-related issues or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Foster a supportive and caring environment for clients, promoting their well-being and comfort during transportation.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless and coordinated transportation service.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a driver, preferably in a similar role or working with individuals with special needs.
• Excellent driving skills, with a strong emphasis on safety, patience, and adaptability.
• Empathy and compassion towards individuals with special needs, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures is advantageous.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and calmness.
• Flexibility in working hours, as transportation needs may vary.
• Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and respecting their rights and dignity.
