Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Operation:
- Safely operate construction vehicles, including trucks, lorries, and vans, adhering to all road safety rules and regulations.
- Material Transportation:
- Transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from construction sites.
- Personnel Transportation:
- Transport construction personnel, workers, and subcontractors to project sites as required.
- Loading and Unloading:
- Assist in loading and unloading construction materials and equipment onto and from the vehicles.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct routine vehicle checks, including inspecting tires, brakes, and fluid levels, and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all loads are secured properly and transported safely.
- Follow health and safety protocols to protect both personnel and the public during transportation.
- Route Planning:
- Plan efficient routes to optimize fuel consumption and timely delivery to project sites.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle logs, delivery documents, and any required paperwork.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with construction site managers and logistics teams to coordinate transportation requirements.
Requirements:
- Driving License: A valid and clean UK driving license is essential.
- Experience: Previous experience as a construction driver or in a similar driving role is preferred.
- Construction Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction materials and equipment handling is advantageous.
- Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to adhering to road safety regulations and safe driving practices.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual tasks related to loading and unloading construction materials.
