Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the delivery of personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming, while promoting their dignity and respecting their privacy.
2. Support patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and well-being.
3. Assist with medication administration, adhering to prescribed protocols and maintaining accurate documentation.
4. Support patients in their nutritional needs, assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary requirements.
5. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a trusting and therapeutic relationship.
6. Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement care plans, following instructions and reporting any changes or concerns.
7. Assist in the organization and coordination of appointments, transportation, and social activities for patients.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided, including observations and any relevant information.
9. Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
10. Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

1. Prior experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role, preferably in a community or home care setting.
2. Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help and support others.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
4. Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
5. Knowledge of personal care practices and principles of infection control.
6. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to apply them in the community setting.
7. Reliable and flexible with the availability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
8. Respect for diversity and an understanding of cultural sensitivities in delivering care.
9. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting patients’ rights and privacy.
10. Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and provide references.
