Responsibilities:

1. Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation activities, including chopping vegetables, preparing sandwiches, assembling food trays, and ensuring ingredients are readily available for the catering team.
2. Serving and Portioning: Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring accurate portioning and adherence to food presentation standards.
3. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience for guests. Respond to customer inquiries, handle complaints, and address any issues promptly and courteously.
4. Cash Handling: Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately. Process payments, issue receipts, and maintain cash registers in accordance with established procedures.
5. Cleaning and Sanitization: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the catering areas, including clearing tables, washing dishes, sanitizing food preparation surfaces, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
6. Stock Management: Assist in managing inventory levels, including monitoring stock, restocking supplies, and rotating perishable items. Notify supervisors of low stock levels to ensure smooth operations.
7. Set-up and Tear-down: Assist in setting up and dismantling catering equipment, tables, chairs, and decorations for events. Ensure venues are prepared according to the event requirements and clean-up is conducted efficiently.
8. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to food safety regulations, health and safety guidelines, and hygiene standards. Follow proper handling and storage practices for food items and equipment.
9. Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the catering team, including chefs, cooks, and other catering staff, to ensure smooth workflow, timely service, and efficient operations.
10. Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to perform a variety of tasks as required in a dynamic catering environment.

Requirements:

1. Prior experience in a catering or food service role is advantageous but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
3. Strong customer service orientation with a focus on providing a positive experience to guests.
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing accordingly.
5. Basic math skills for cash handling and accurate portioning of food items.
6. Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and following regulations.
7. Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift and carry trays, and perform manual tasks as required.
8. Team player mindset with the ability to work collaboratively and take direction from supervisors and colleagues.
9. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as catering services often operate during these times.
10. Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow within the catering industry.
