Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking skilled and passionate individuals to join our team as Baristas. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and other beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our coffee bar.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks.
2. Grind coffee beans, measure ingredients, and brew coffee according to established recipes and customer preferences.
3. Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and offering recommendations on drink selections.
4. Operate coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines and grinders, ensuring their proper maintenance and cleanliness.
5. Prepare and serve other beverages, such as teas, hot chocolate, and iced drinks, as per customer requests.
6. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments and providing change.
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and serving areas.
8. Uphold health and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
9. Maintain knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles to educate guests and make recommendations.
10. Stay up-to-date with current coffee trends and new products, ensuring the coffee bar offerings are appealing and innovative.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred.
2. Passion for coffee and a strong knowledge of different coffee types, brewing techniques, and flavor profiles.
3. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
4. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality beverages.
6. Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
7. Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
8. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
9. Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., Smart Serve) is an asset.
10. Second language proficiency, particularly in French, may be advantageous.
