Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.
2. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
4. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks or opportunities.
5. Support the management team in financial decision-making by providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
7. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.
8. Conduct periodic reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
9. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
10. Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and information.
11. Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
12. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.
13. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.
14. Provide support during budgeting and forecasting processes.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Accounting. Additional professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
2. Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
4. Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems. Knowledge of Tally or similar software is preferred.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
7. Strong understanding of financial statements and financial analysis.
8. Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
9. Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
10. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
11. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
13. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment.
14. Knowledge of Dubai accounting regulations and practices is preferred.
15. Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
