Job Summary:
As a 3.5t Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of packages to customers’ locations. Your role will involve operating a 3.5-tonne vehicle, loading and unloading packages, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires a valid driver’s license with category B or C1 entitlement, strong navigational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 3.5-tonne vehicle to deliver packages to designated locations.
- Load and unload packages onto the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Plan delivery routes using navigational tools or maps to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or safety issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service, delivering packages with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Obtain customer signatures upon delivery and accurately record delivery details.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or changes.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Uphold confidentiality and privacy when handling sensitive customer information.
- Perform general maintenance and cleanliness checks of the vehicle.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with category B or C1 entitlement.
- Previous experience as a 3.5t driver or in a similar driving role is preferred.
- Excellent navigational skills and knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining delivery records.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform lifting, loading, and unloading tasks.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
